We are pleased to announce that Marlene Grabner, a doctoral candidate at our institute has been awarded a DOC Fellowship by the Austrian Academy of Sciences (Österreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften, ÖAW).

Supervised by our Group Leader Dr. Julia Guthrie, her project – titled “Beyond the Single Gene: Integrating Knowledge Graphs and AI to Bridge the Diagnostic Gap in Rare Disease” – combines artificial intelligence and network medicine to advance rare disease diagnostics.

Marlene is pursuing her PhD degree at the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Vienna, and will soon join the Vienna Doctoral School in Chemistry (DoSChem). The fellowship is hosted at the Max Perutz Labs, providing access to their high-performance computing infrastructure, supporting computational aspects of her project.
