Congratulations to Barbara Geist on her Habilitation
Our Adjunct-PI achieves a significant academic milestone in the field of nuclear medicine.
At the beginning of June, Barbara held her Habilitation colloquium titled “Quantification of renal processes in nuclear medicine” at the Medical University of Vienna. In her Habilitation thesis, she described, based on molecular imaging, the pharmacokinetics of the kidney, showing that the mathematical approach of using the continuity equation describes the kidney processes better than a kinetic model.
She is now habilitated in the field of nuclear medicine, achieving the highest academic qualification (a postdoctoral degree) obtainable in the Austrian university system. In addition to her role as Adjunct-PI at our institute, Barbara serves as the Head of Computational Nuclear Medicine at the Division of Nuclear Medicine, Medical University of Vienna.
We are proud to have Dr. habil. Barbara Geist on our team!
